Premium Weather Update July 29, 2026

A dry slot has worked into parts of Pennsylvania and New Jersey, bringing an end to the steadiest rainfall there. Meanwhile, a new round of heavy rain has shifted into western and southwestern Connecticut as moisture wraps around the storm system now moving directly across the state. Flooding remains a concern through today, with periods of moderate to heavy rain continuing before gradually tapering later this afternoon and evening. A secondary disturbance will cross the region later today, but with much of the available moisture already consumed by this first round of rain, it should produce little more than a few spotty showers. After a very wet start to the week, quieter weather will gradually settle in through the remainder of the week, with several days of comfortable temperatures, lower humidity, and mainly dry conditions before the next chance for showers arrives later in the weekend.
