Premium Weather Update September 18, 2026

Happy Friday! Surface high pressure across the region keeps us settled through the first part of the weekend. Energy moving out of the eastern Great Lakes offers rain; steady to heavy at times late Sunday morning through mid afternoon. This event is expected to be less intense than last Sunday’s rain event with the potential for up to 2″ of rain across central & southern Connecticut & across a good part of the southern Hudson Valley through Long Island. Once this rain clears the region to the east early Monday morning; a new ridge of surface high pressure builds in from southern Canada & the Great Lakes providing settled conditions for the first part of next week. There is the potential for a coastal storm by the end of next week. More on this Monday! – Joe Sciacca
