Premium Weather Update June 17, 2026

High pressure over the Mid-Atlantic buckles today as a few low pressure troughs move through the Northeast. These are all week, but increasing humidity and generally more unstable conditions are making conditions at least borderline favorable for isolated showers and thunderstorms; we’re seeing a few today and we’ll see a few tomorrow. The stronger frontal system looks to track to our northeast, though, cutting through New York and Northern New England into Quebec; this will let us clear out for a mainly sunny weekend. A strong storm to close the weekend, though, could bring some strong to severe storms.
