Rain moving through today will pull cooler air into the region behind a cold front, ending the recent stretch of warmth across southern New York and southwest Connecticut. While showers taper off, the bigger story becomes the extended cool pattern settling in behind the system. Temperatures are expected to run near to below average through much of next week, with a mix of clouds, occasional breaks of sun, and only isolated, but locally heavy, showers from time to time.
